Rudder's has a unique combination of genuine warmth and customer service immediacy which is rare amongst Atlantic Canada hospitality operations. There is no question that Rudder's philosophy is to provide guests with a remarkable and memorable experience. Rudder's is the one and only one place in Yarmouth where I truly enjoy relaxing with a beer and dining! The pan-fried seafood is consistent and fabulous! - Harvey Sawler A couple of locals recommended your restaurant and so we tried it out on Fridays night. We both had the lobster and it was absolutely amazing even though we are from Prince Edward Island and we normally feel that our lobster is without parallel and there is no point having it anywhere else. It was so good, combined with your great brew pub beer and friendly service that we decided to return last night. Marie again had the lobster and it was full, juicy and fresh again. For a change I had the prime rib special.. It came cooked as I ordered it and was superb including the Yorkshire pudding and gravy au jus. We can't say enough good about the place. The view is incredible, the building is a treat to be in and the staff are friendly and accommodating and we've already gone on about the food and beer!!! We are coming back tonight. - Marie and Jim McDougall, PEI
Last July I cruised into
Yarmouth harbor looking for a spell of luxury living and a little nightlife
after a string of fog-filled days running down the coast of Nova Scotia.
There on the waterfront was a most promising prospect--a clean, quiet marina
with substantial docks in natural wood, set back from which was a tavern
called Rudders. This was too good to miss. I went in and felt like a
Texas cowhand hitting Abilene after a month on the trail. Rudders was
obviously the heart of this town and yet didn't appear to be spoiled by all
the attention the locals were giving it. It was lively; the food was fine;
the beer was dark and plentiful; everybody working there treated me as if I
were special--and a number of those employees were mighty good looking young
women. The vagaries of cruising ended up keeping me in harbor much longer
than planned, but with Rudders to look forward to, each day in town was just
fine with me. - Spike, USA |
